How to eliminate bad smells from the kitchen: 5 infallible tricks

If you never forget the good smell of a place, you can say the same (or more) of the bad smell. It goes without saying that cleanliness is the key to removing bad odors from the house, nor that the kitchen, by definition, is often the main source of problems when it comes to unwanted odors.

AD Magazine has compiled several tricks that can make the process of removing unpleasant kitchen odors easier. Take note of these tips:

Attention to the fridge

This is one of the main (and potential) sources of bad odor. The good aroma of our kitchen will depend, to a large extent, on its correct maintenance. A periodic deep cleaning refrigerator, completely emptying the freezer and defrosting, is the first step. The second part of the job is to guarantee its conservation on a day-to-day basis. Storing food in specific containers, preferably airtight (as long as the type of food allows it) is the best way to avoid unwanted aromas and at the same time keep the interior of the refrigerator in order, as the publication writes.

Choose the garbage well

Betting on a garbage can with a lid, as airtight as possible and with waste separation, is very important. But when neither scent bags nor throwing away the garbage can make the bad smell disappear, then there is no choice but to clean the interior with the help of a disinfectant.

Be careful when cooking

There are foods that end up leaving an unpleasant smell in the kitchen and that tend to spread throughout the house. Therefore, it is important not to underestimate the power of a good hood, as well as the ventilation of the space. Leaving a glass of vinegar near where you are cooking can also help dissipate odors.

Clean the microwave

In this case, without a doubt, it is old-fashioned: disinfectant and cloth in hand. Another trick, for those cases in which the bad smell does not seem to want to disappear, is to heat a glass of water with lemon, according to AD.

No olvides el fregadero

Suena obvio, pero el fregadero debe limpiarse y desinfectarse al menos una vez al día o cada vez que lavamos platos; prestando especial atención a la acumulación de restos de comida en la zona de drenaje, principal fuente de malos olores.
