The colors that best suit your home (depending on the effect you want to achieve)

Popular wisdom already says: for taste, colors. But, despite being true, you must be careful when choosing the paint for your house: you may love that yellow chicken, but it ends up giving you a headache if you have it in the room every day, right ? Or that it is such a vivid color that it ends up giving the impression that that room is even smaller than it is.

The first thing, if you want to achieve spaciousness and luminosity, you have to bet on white, it is what will give your home the most light, whether we talk about walls or doors. To continue with that luminosity, whites go very well with butter colors instead of more vivid yellows like lemon. With these combinations you will get more welcoming spaces. And if you have a place where the light does not reach, bet on vanilla yellow.

Where to use whites? The truth is that they go well in any space. The purest can be left for low ceilings (2.1 meters or less). Meanwhile, on the walls you can use warmer tones such as ivory, almond or beige. With these tones you will get the impression that the rooms are larger (hence we do not advise very bright and garish colors for small rooms because you would end up getting an oppressive space).

If you are looking to create a relaxing atmosphere, go for blue ones: you can try it on room walls where there is natural light. If they are dark, better leave that tone for the upholstery of the furniture or the cushions. Blues are perfect for the bathroom, for example.

Would you like to hide the gotelé? Well, it is also possible to camouflage it without having to remove it and it is achieved with a matte green. In addition, green is a very cheerful color, which also looks good in bedrooms, in the dining room or in meeting areas. You also have a wide range: olive green, moss, khaki, lime … If you want to give more clarity to that room, leave the floor in light wood. Green is just as relaxing as blue, but because it’s yellow, it’s more cheerful. What colors should you not combine it with? With purple in its different intensities because it can overwhelm. Yes, the lilac suits him.

If you opt for a gray, you will give more character to your room than with a white and without using too much color. Of course, if the room faces north and is not very sunny, we do not advise it.

Types of interior paint

There is a lot of variety on the market. One of the most widespread is plastic, which is washable once it dries (it can be very useful for a children’s room). There is also the synthetic enamel paint, they are very strong paints with matte, satin or glossy finishes. Also in the market you will find acrylic enamel paints (they are acrylic resins, soluble in water) and mineral paints (of natural origin).

It must be said that paints of mineral or vegetable origin are more suitable if you have any type of respiratory problem and in the long run, they hold up better than a synthetic paint.
