The purchase and sale of homes on the island of Lanzarote has grown considerably compared to the previous year.

The majority client, the tourist, is the one that acquires a house for vacations. The tourist localities preferred by the tourists are: Costa Teguise, one of the most demanded in the last years, along with Arrecife.

Ana Fernandez, commercial director of Hormiconsa Real Estate, explains that “tourists have always been a great buyer on the island, but the customer who purchases their first home or who wants to buy their second home has also increased,” he says, explaining that sales are shared between both profiles.

A home in Costa Teguise is around 160,000 euros, while in Arrecife on the front line, in front of the Reducto beach, the cost would be 130,000 euros, in the case of a three-bedroom apartment.

“The price depends on the number of rooms and, above all, on the location,” says the commercial director of Hormiconsa.
